TRANSGRESSIVE widmet sich unterschiedlichsten Positionen zeitgenössischer internationaler Kulturschaffender aus Berlin, die sich durch einen grenzüberschreitenden Zugang zu Kunst und Stadt auszeichnen.
Allen Teilnehmenden ist dabei ein selbstbestimmter und subversiver Umgang mit Stadtraum gemein. Von Graffiti bis Cruising und queeren Räumen innerhalb der Stadt, von temporären Architekturen bis zu Formen von sozialem Aktivismus finden viele der hier gezeigten Arbeiten Ihren Ursprung in oftmals unauthorisierten und teils sogar illegalen urbanen Praktiken.
Die teilnehmenden Akteur*innen aus Bildender und Darstellender Kunst, Architektur und Stadtforschung präsentieren – in so unterschiedlichen Medien wie Malerei, Collage, Skulptur, Installation, Film, Fotografie und Performance – vielfältige Spielarten anti-disiziplinärer Stadtraumerschließung. Sie alle gehen in ihrem kreativen Schaffensprozess enge Verbindungen mit der Stadt ein, und lassen die Stadt dabei als Ausgangspunkt ihrer Werke erscheinen.

TRANSGRESSIVE is dedicated to diverse artistic positions of international Berlin-based cutlural producers, who are are characterized by a cross-border approach to the arts and the city.
All participants have in common a self-determined and subversive approach to urban space. From graffiti to cruising and queer spaces within the city, and from temporary architectures to forms of social activism, many of the works shown here find their origin in often unauthorized and sometimes even illegal urban practices.
The participating artists from the visual and performing arts, architecture, and urban research will present a wide variety of anti-disciplinary artistic practices – in media as diverse as painting, collage, sculpture, installation, film, photography, and performance. In their creative process, they all enter into close connections with the city, allowing the city to appear as the point of departure of their works.
